2 to the power of 40 or 10 to the power of 12?

Wow. The revolution has begun. 1 Tb Hdd’s are here. Hitachi has released the worlds first 1 Tb (931.51Gb). Hard Disk Drive. Exciting, isn’t it?
Check out the article here.

Soon we can all loose an entire lifetime of photos and/or valuable information in just a micro- second. Scary to think. I just bought a 1 gb micro SD card for my phone. It holds about 700 MP3s (give or take a few). Impressive in a card that is no bigger than my little finger nail! No really!!! Even I am amazed at how things are being miniaturised. The only trouble with this, is that the human race is getting bigger! Bigger hands, bigger feet... Bigger bits all round they say. Taller, fatter, more intelligent so (they say).

Anyway, my point is this... If things are getting smaller and we are getting bigger, then how is this making things easier? Like a clumsy grand-dad struggling with an x-box controller: all the finesse of a Bosch hammer drill; we struggle with new technology and the inevitable miniaturisation (if that's a real word) of the entire world.
